These pen-style, pin vise (PSPV) aluminum handles securely anchor 2 mm diameter implements (ideal for dental burs). They are commonly referred to as "craft knives," "exacto knives," or "pen-knives" in India. (Default blades are replaced with dental burs). Exacto handles were originally designed to anchor surgical blades with only hand-grip tightening. They have endured the test of time, having served humanity well for over 90 years. For superior safety in dental use, DCFAI safety protocol requires supplemental clamp-lock tightening. Regular household pliers work fine: one set of pliers stabilizes the small compression collar, while the second set grips the handle's main body for counter pressure tightening. Testing has proven that supplemental mechanical force makes it impossible for a bur to loosen while in use.
