IN-LINE VALVE ASSEMBLY HIGHThe Spetzler Lumbar Peritoneal Shunt System is designed to shunt cerebrospinal fluid (CSF) from the lumbar subarachnoid space to peritoneum. Additional resistance to flow may be obtained by the placement of a small cylindrically housed miter valve at any point along the Lumbar Peritoneal Shunt. This valve is provided in high pressure and contains integral stainless steel connectors for easy insertion at the time of initial shunt placement or revision. Fluid flow direction is indicated by a radiopaque arrow on the valve housing.
